The band started in 1985 as a family band with Larry, Jesse and Glenda Norfleet, along with good friend Donnie Fritz. In 1985, Larry, Jesse and Donnie played at the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Festival in Bean Blossom, IN. Here they composed their first song and asked Mr. Monroe to name the song. He said he wouldn't do so until he heard it. After hearing the song performed onstage accompanied by members of Bill's Bluegrass Boys, Mr Monroe named the song "Kokomo Breakdown".
The band continued to play for a couple more years with new members, Andrea Mullins and Jimmy Campbell and then decided to go different directions joining other bands. Larry and Jesse played with other groups such as, The Bluegrass Messengers, Ray Scalf and the Clay County Travelers, Lum Patton and the Half Mountain boys, the Christian Messengers, and The Shenendoah Valley Boys. They have met many wonderrful people and played along side some of the greats such as, Bill Monroe, Doyle Lawson, Ralph Stanley, Raymond Fairchild, Jim and Jesse and Jimmy Martin just to name a few.
In 1988 they had the honor of backing up Mac Weisman at the Bill Monroe festival. There was a documentary being filmed during this festival called,"High Lonesome". You can see them in some footage onstage with Mac and in the sunset jam with Mr. Monroe They decided to reignite the fire that once was there and reassemble the band. They are currently writing and composing some original music that will hopefully be out on CD soon. It doesn't matter who you are they will jam from sun-up to sun-down. "If the music is good... Keep it going!"
