"Story Songs" is not a hands on workshop, rather, it is panel performance/presentation, in which each songwriter performs in the round, and discusses the inner workings of their song, the cosmic approach, Ernie calls it. The set goes along with his book, "The Cosmic Path to Melody and Lyric." He and his wife Patti, wrote the festival theme song, “Tribute to John Hartford”, which was included on the 2015 festival cd, “Up On The Hill”.
Ernie has a regular column, "The Morning Bugle" at www.johnhartfordmemfest.com" which includes many articles and interviews with Hartford Fest performers and Fest Family. Ernie is an inadvertent story teller and loves to connect with the audience. His quick sense of humor makes for a set of spontaneous unpredictability. Ernie's music and stories are available at www.wordsofernest.com. His book, "The Cosmic Path to Melody and Lyric", illustrated by JHMF world renowned artist, Jon Griffin, is available at the site too.
