Melissa. The festival officially starts about 11:45 Thursday morning with an opening ceremony with Katie Hartford Hogue speaking a few words about her dad. That will be followed by our rag tag staff jug band. Yes, I will be up there too. This ceremony will be at the Hartford stage (main). There will be some music Wednesday night as the sound crew gets the sound systems setup. Plus of course there will most likely be a lot of jams through all nights including Wednesday. If it should be raining, I'm sure they'll be jams at the Boogie stage (big top tent on top of Hippy Hill) and under the pavilion across from the food vendors.

Katie, with regards to primitive camping, you probably won't have any problems keeping your car next to you tent. I know they said it depends. It does sometimes because of the location you camp at and how crowded it is. Primitive camping spots do not have an area marked off for each camping spot. It's kind of a free for all. Even if you can't have your car right next to your tent, you should be able to park it pretty close. I think if you're getting there Wednesday evening (hopefully before dark) you shouldn't have a problem finding a good spot. Thanks for supporting the festival. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Bring some rain gear. It looks like we might have some light rain a couple of the days. Keep your fingers crossed that we don't though.

HI all, I am planning to come down to the Festival on Friday morning. I am scheduled to perform my song during the songwriting showcase at noon. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and do most of my touring via train or bus due to a spinal cord injury that limits my ability to drive.... Is anyone coming in from Indi or Cinci that could give me a lift into the festival? I would greatly appreciate it. Please message me at chmosbrook@gmail.com if possible. Thank you!

It's been years since I've been to Bean Blossom. I can't wait to return. This will be my first JHMF, and I need some clarification on the campground rules. What are the chances that I can keep my vehicle and tent together if I arrive on Wednesday night? I was told by the campground that it depends, but wasn't sure on what. I will be paying for tent camping in advance. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks to John H. for making this happen! -Katie
